We as women are way too harsh on ourselves. Always aiming for perfection and always ostracizing ourselves for not achieving our perceived ideal. It’s wonderful to reach for the stars, to aim for perfection and want to be our best selves and even better but what we often miss is that our perfection lies in our imperfections. The “flaws” that only we seem to pinpoint are what make us…us. It’s all the differences in color, shape, size, and general appearance that make us unique. We, “imperfect” as we may be are perfect in our own very special way. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and we need to behold our own inner beauty. Own who you are, let it empower you, work it. A thousand people can tell you that you’re beautiful, that you’re amazing and perfect but you need to see it in yourself. You need to believe in you.
Marilyn Monroe and most original pinups were not the size 0, 00, or 2 that we often see splattered all over the media but they are still looked at as a sex symbols, bombshells. It’s all in your attitude. I am still struggling, learning this and hoping each day to discover and love myself even more. I wish the same for all women out there, struggling each day to even like themselves. Love yourself and the rest will follow.
